Inclusive Human Rights Education in Tajikistan

Abstract This chapter presents a critical overview of the development and implementation inclusive education (IE) for children with special needs in Tajikistan. It assesses improvements shortcomings last few years so doing, aims to identify remaining gaps relevant legislation government programs, as well societal perceptions issue IE. Based on primary sources form semi-structured interviews secondary sources, such social science other literature, this also demonstrates need more work be done combat stigma both prejudice charitable attitudes marked by pity toward disabled people. The necessary steps here include abandoning medical model adopting rights-based disability society, modifying domestic legal frameworks, an pedagogical approach (flexible curriculum, specially trained educators), ensuring proper infrastructure transportation systems people disabilities (PwD). aim should make human rights (HRE) reality (CwD) However, I will argue that not only do authorities lack political but civil too, lacks active participation enhance awareness, knowledge, understanding about (special) disabilities. study illustrates provides efforts have been made society implement enforcement mechanisms, looking at flaws attempts progress.
